Review - erisarei.com
Well I have finally found another willing "victim" to have their site reviewed by jakkar.com. This time it is erisarei.com. This is a personal website that is used to promote the person's talent (in this case Christian music.) It is a Flash-heavy site, so you may want to have your Flash plug-in updated before heading in. Well enough with the introductions, let's get onto the review!Layout: Very nice layout. Looks professional. I am not sure if a template was used for this, but it looks pretty clean. The content is well defined and easy to read.
Bells and whistles: Well with any flash site, you are to expect several bells and whistles. This site is no different. The entry into any of the pages is preceded with an animation of the page(s) unfolding to reveal the content. But unlike many flash sites, they don't overwhelm you with flying animations and a multitude of gizmos that would distract you from the actual content itself. It reserves the "flashy" for when it is needed, and not just for the sake of it.
Other design comments: The site looks like it was developed with the standard 600 X 800 resolution in mind. and for a site without a lot of content, that works just fine. Even if your resolution is much greater, the site looks clean.
Navigation: VERY easy to navigate. The links are very easy to read and understand. However the site is not very large to begin with so there isn't too many places to go. However there are a few pages that have the tried and true "coming soon" listed on them. Some of the pages appear within pop ups, that do seem a little bit too narrow, but that is about as nit-picky as I get.
Objective: Well as I mentioned earlier, this site is mainly made to promote Erisa, and it does what it sets out to do. Throughout the site, there are highlights of her career and talent displayed. There is no doubt as to what this site is about. If you are looking for a site that deals with Christian music, then you have come to the right place.
Keeping it fresh: The dates listed are pretty current, but I would not expect too much in the way of having fresh content being updated on a daily basis. I would assume that updates to this site would occur monthly, or bi-monthly at most.
Interaction: Well besides the flying transitions between pages, there isn't really much to do within the site. There is some very decent samples of her music that plays when the site loads. But I have yet to find a way to shut it off. (not saying that it wasn't good music, but rather give the user a choice.) Also I found little "neat" things within the site, such as clicking on the pictures will cause them to do a slide show type display. very nice touch there. But the rest of the site just lists concert dates and other information. Also there is a contact section. So you can contact the webadmin if needed.
OVERALL: Very nice site. it is not intended to overwhelm a person, but rather gain their attention and inform the user as easily as possible. So anyone with a short attention span would be able to view the whole site before losing interest. And it is done well enough that those who are interested can get enough information that they may want as quickly as possible. It is very simple and attractive without overdoing it.
And drumroll please................
